Like I mentioned before, I left my job last month. But while I was still there I took some photos to capture a day in the life. Here’s how my days rolled while I was at my 8-to-5.
7:00 AM // P brews the coffee and wakes me up to have some together on the couch. Best part of the day some days. (Terrible photo, but still worth remembering.)
8:00 AM // Finish getting ready for work. P leaves around 7:45 and I have about another half hour after that.
8:30 AM // Settle in at work. Check email. Kick on the heater. Every day. Even in the summer.
10:00 AM // Breakfast at my desk.
1:00 PM // Before I left, P and I were having lunch together almost every day. We went in waves of what was typical. I used to go to my parents’ house every day, which was nearby, either with a prepped lunch or a frozen meal. Most recently, we were going out to eat almost every day. Pizza, sandwiches, wraps. Ice cream.
2:00 PM // Much more of the same. Sitting at my desk. Sitting in meetings. Working on some cool things. Working on some crappy things.
5:15 PM // My typical departure time. (Though in some stints over the last few months, I would stay until 6:00-6:30.) Then I would make the short drive home. Sometimes hectic, sometimes calm.
5:45 PM // I was honestly never in the mood to do much after work. We would hang out on the couch, watch TV, sometimes prep dinner, other times order takeout.
And that was a pretty standard weekday! Definitely a lot of changes to my routine, my plans, and my eating habits since then. :-)
