I don’t know why I go so long between making overnight oats. I guess sometimes I don’t have yogurt, and sometimes I start thinking it’s too calorie dense for the amount of food I like to consume.
but it is so choice. if you have the means, I highly suggest trying it. ;-)
this week it has not technically been overnight oats. I assemble before I leave for work, and it tastes perfect by the time I’ve finished my coffee and am hungry for breakfast.
I think breakfast is always my favorite meal. I really do savor it, even if I’m stuck sitting at my desk at work cradling it in my arms. it’s always the most dignified and healthiest part of my day, since the downfalls either come at lunch or afternoon snack time. and if I plan it out ahead of time, I’m almost always really happy with it.
into the mix this week went:
* 1/2 cup french vanilla stonyfield yogurt
* 1/4 cup rolled oats
* tbsp chia seeds
* 2 small handfuls of frozen blueberries (still finishing from last summer!)
* a healthy splash of almond milk (probably 1/4 cup)
it. tastes. like. summer!
