I didn’t take many photos today, but I think these (plus a few others I’m saving for my album) captured the highlights. I love keeping hobbies stress-free and as enjoyable as possible.

We realized Thursday night that our air conditioner wasn’t working. It had this problem once last year, and while it’s frustrating that it’s happening again, at least the weekend is supposed to be pretty mild.
It should be fixed soon, and in the meantime, we’ve opened all the windows and cranked up the fans.
Last night’s leftovers for this morning’s breakfast: baked tofu, sautéed in coconut oil, and roasted potatoes, onions, and eggplant topped with some Daiya cheese.
Maybe that’s weird, but it’s so good. Having all this time at home really changes up my food game. I don’t have to scramble to pack breakfast and lunch (which I was doing a crap job of recently), and I love having the kitchen right there whenever I want it.
Rain rain rain.
I met a work friend for lunch at our favorite Chinese + sushi place. It’s the highlight of my day. I love catching up together and I’m so happy that we’re staying in touch. We talk about work and school and summer plans. :-)
Very quiet night. P and I took a walk to take the trash out and run an errand.
He made a bowl of oatmeal, I cooked up a bowl of pinto beans, quinoa, veggies, and avocado. (I’m really struggling with getting good protein sources that are not dairy! It sounds like such a ridiculous problem. I know the healthy foods that I can eat to boost it. But it’s pretty eye-opening to realize just how much of my protein was coming from milk and cheese.)
I snuggled up with my book in bed. (I have to remember that in order to keep fostering a reading habit, I have to abandon any book that I’m not completely into. Otherwise, I lose interest and end up not reading at all. It’s such a great way to wind down, even if all I’m currently reading is young adult fiction.)
