I started a new project this year. On February 1, I started taking a one second video every day using the 1 Second Everyday app.
Today I wanted to share my first month of one second videos.
Except for a random beach video or two from past vacations, I have zero history with video. I love photos, and all the things I can do with them. Video felt like such a foreign concept to me.
But this app! It is so simple. And now I have all these little moments — that I can’t print out and put in albums, true — but that have a little extra spirit captured. I love that I’m capturing some movement from my favorite moments and with my favorite people. It’s already been fun to look back at some of the longer videos I pulled from — singing happy birthday, laughs, and even just having coffee.
I love this project.
Some of my one seconds are so boring, I almost don’t want to include them. But together, they make up such a fun record of my year so far.
I definitely fib a little bit. I do pretty well with the project, but sometimes I forget. I’m not stressed out at all about it. I’ll just take a couple of extra videos on a day and add them in to past dates. I’d love to have a video for every day of the year. I think it’s ok if it’s not an exact document.
I have March finished, and am currently working on filling in a day or two from April. Do you document? And do you ever use video?? I would love to know other people’s experiences.
