We had a great day at Bushkill Falls last week, but I still had the beach on my mind.
Last year, I literally went to the beach for two hours. With a little more free time on my hands right now, I thought I should fix that this year.
Started off the day with P and some coffee, and fixed a smoothie for the road.
And I took my SLR with me! It has not seen the light of day for probably a year or two. I love my amazing little point-and-shoot. But there’s something about having a little more control over things. It made me remember how excited I used to be about taking pictures.
The water was pretty cold, but it was so great to be in it.
Sea Isle is doing some crazy construction and work on the beach. They added huge pipes along the shore, I think to try to help the erosion and flooding damage, and they built up high, sort of awkward walkways to get to the sand. Different than I remember, but obviously necessary, and I’m glad they’re trying to keep the beaches in good condition.
I mostly walked while I was there, but I took a little break on my blanket and wrote for a bit. It really helps keep my anxiety in check. (I’ve been having a lot of ups and downs during this free time of mine.)
I’m sure I won’t see the boardwalk like this any other time this year.
I really miss the water when I’m away from it. It always puts things in perspective for me. Can’t wait to spend more time down there in 2016.
