I’m linking up with amanda at running with spoons for a post of random things. i hope she doesn’t mind me bastardizing the logo to make it match the blog. all credit obviously goes to her. except any negative credit or ugliness. that’s all me.
we had a serious snow day in jersey today. my office was opening at 10:00 am, so i got ready, and cleaned cars. that’s a lie. but someone cleaned the cars.
and then someone got stuck in my driveway and i decided it just wasn’t worth it. words like “treacherous roads” and “accidents everywhere” came through in texts from my mom. and i decided if everyone else was working from home, i’d give it a try, as well. i am a baby when it comes to icy roads, but today, it seemed legit.
it was not a very lazy, hot-cocoa-and-movies snow day, as i spent it uncomfortably perched at my coffee table working until 6:00 pm.
but at least i was doing it in pajamas.
i’ve always thought i’d like to spend a few days doing this with my current job. i don’t think i could be a stay-at-home worker full time, because i would feel too cut off, and know i would never get out of those pajamas. but i didn’t realize how much harder it would be to stop working when the workday is done. we had some projects to accomplish, so we did have to keep going through 5:30… but i found myself staying by the computer and needing to force myself to shut down. wasn’t expecting that.
i really like my new activity tracker wristband. it’s only been two days, so i’ll wait to decide how i really feel about it when it’s a little more seasoned. so far, so good, though. tuesday was my first full day with it, and i got up and did a little cardio and yoga in the apartment. and today, i got up and logged some steps (mostly in place) for a 5-minute work break. i think i’ll go do some more of that after this post.
speaking of diet and exercise, this happened last night:
completely worth it. cookies and milk was my other 5-minute work break today.
now i’m off to go watch parenthood and think about making some dinner.
