i talked about the food from our trip to jamaica. this time i’m sharing photos of the resort + scenery.
i chose sandals whitehouse. the resort was gorgeous. thank goodness, after a mildly treacherous bus trip to get there.
it’s the only big resort on the south coast of jamaica, and about 2 hours from the airport in montego bay. i thought it would be awesome to compare a big name all-inclusive with our smaller one in mexico. and because the south coast doesn’t have as many resorts, there’s less of a party scene, and it’s more about rest + relaxation + perfect sunshine.
it was a bit less personal than the smaller all-inclusive. we were on our own to find restaurants and beach chairs and amenities.
the first night we were out of sorts. we had slept through dinnertime after chilling out from the day’s travel, and we woke up feeling like we were in jurassic park.
but we agreed to go out to dinner and not stay locked in our room. once we got to the main area, everything was great. and on the second night, we realized we had just taken a deserted back way the first time.
there were 2 peacocks that wandered around all week. and a chess board that went entirely unused, but was like the north star for getting back to our room.
and beautiful flowers everywhere.
there were three pools. (!) the main one, in all the resort’s website photos, was a little too hyper for us. but the medium sized pool was just right.
we usually just went there before heading in for the day to take a dip in the pool + get a delicious drink at the swim-up bar. some say gross, i say best invention ever. and we spent most of our time on the beach anyway.
still have some more photos to go. :) i think i’ll take a few days off in between so the blog doesn’t get burnt out on jamaica.
