i just got off a 3-day weekend. i can’t think of anything i’d rather have.
there’s all this pumpkin-this and pumpkin-that talk around the blogs i read. seriously? it’s still 80* outside. and i have not yet had enough. so i’ll be celebrating summer on here for a little while longer.
this weekend for the past 3 years has included car racing. for some reason, this weekend always concludes with me giving up blogging for a while. i feel like they’re unrelated, but it’s still a weird trend. thankfully, it seems like i’ve broken the streak this year.
i planned to catch a ride down to these car races sunday morning, which left me free to hang out with fran + company on saturday. i went to the hula party, which i just realized i haven’t blogged about on this blog, so there’s no link. fran wrote about it in 2011.
delicious veggie cheeseburger, and lots of salad from fran.
i snapped a photo of her food, too. her camera was safely stowed away.
and there were some pretty cute little things running around.
i didn’t get many photos that day. i left a little early to meet my parents + brother’s family at a chinese buffet. i ordered off the menu, and it was delicious.
but i may or may not have woken up sunday with food poisoning. i’m not exactly sure. whatever it was, i was in a bad way. still, being the incredible girl i am, i headed out to meet my ride for these car races. ;) i spent the day sitting down, and having waves of pretty intense pain. but i think i was a trooper.
i sat in the bleachers with e.p. and his friends.
and they made some other friends.
it was a very long day. i left the races at 1:00 AM, and the guys got to our hotel at 2:30. but when i wasn’t trying not to cry, i was thinking how happy i was to be there with e.p. i’m not trying to get sappy. i’m just trying to put a little weight behind the next photo. i think it was my favorite of the weekend just because of what i was thinking when i started snapping. e.p. is one of the ones in the middle.
the morning saw me feeling better.
and then after our diner pancake breakfast, we drove home in this…
the weather did break later on. maybe it was saying that september wouldn’t always be like this.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
i’m linking up with “blogtember” this month, hosted by jenni at story of my life. sometimes i’ll be following her prompts, and other times i’ll just be celebrating daily blogging. i hope she doesn’t mind.
