i am exactly in the middle of my last four-day chunk of time off. and it is divine. i thought i’d do a quick recap of christmas. 5 days doesn’t seem too late. especially considering i stretch out my birthday for a month.
just a few more cookie photos to start. mama and i got a great photo together [usually one of us is displeased with something]. and EP stole the camera and snapped away while we dunked things i chocolate.
i finished up wrapping all my gifts. and saturday morning, i decided to try to make a scarf for EP. he’s not really a scarf guy, but i just really wanted to give him one. i told him i didn’t care if he never wore it.
i finished the scarf in the same day. but i basically worked on it nonstop. :-) i separated the skein in half, and use two pieces at a time, with the big knitting sticks.
EP worked on christmas eve, and came over after to say hello. they had a half day. it will probably be three half days i’ve missed and used full vacation days for. but really, it’s not so bad. that’s 4 hours of unadulterated pajama time.
we tried to have a little photo shoot. the awkward getting-up-for-the-self-timer shot was actually my favorite…
it’s possibly my favorite 3 hours of the year.
mama was pretty adorable opening a boyd’s bear my dad surprised her with.
and i got my epiphanie camera bag!!! truthfully, i 100% knew about this one. when it came in, she had me check it out to make sure i loved it because their return policy was short. still amazing.
look how beautiful she is. i’ve been breaking it in all week. [it goes well with the shiny new sonata. which soon will no longer be shiny.]
and EP did amazing with gifts this year. i know that’s not what it’s all about.
but i do love gifts. and surprises. and he wrapped them so good. he told me he watched a few youtube videos this year.
see those red stripes? with “kristen” all over them? that’s red duct tape. that’s like the boy version of washi tape. i swoon.
i’m also swooning over the perfect coffee maker he got me. [it. is. programmable. so coffee is ready the second i drag my butt out of bed.]
the rest of the day was spent eating cookies and visiting with family.
my brother also gave my parents a little surprise.
it’s a girl! due in may. :-) i cried. EP’s sister is expecting, a boy, 10 days earlier. it’s going to be an emotional little spring.
and that’s it! [after this one pretty great group shot of “all the kids.”]
now i’m just trying to stretch out my last few days of celebration and festivities. so far so good.
