i thought i’d write up an overview of my planner for 2013. mostly, because i’m a dweeb. and i scour blogs for reviews when i’m about to choose something like this. this year, i bought a planner on ebay because of a post from sarah. i’d recommend it, but i stopped using it because i didn’t love it any more.
i’d rather have the days spaced out over the 2 pages instead of the blank space on the right. and it was honestly too big of a space to fill in each week. i used to love the 8.5 x 11 size with so much space. but i have a lot of down weeks, and blank white pages intimidate me.
so, i decided to search around for something smaller and cuter. it ended up being my 2nd ebay purchase, and — i didn’t realize until after i ordered it — from the same seller as last year. it’s called the pony brown diary journal planner. and it is perfect. [it makes me feel slightly like a 12 year old, but i really don’t mind.] i think this is the start of a long love with korean stationery.
the cover says “yesterday and today — always smile! — my happy story.” a little insane for a planner i plan to keep with me all the time, but it’s still making me grin.
it’s probably half the size of this year’s. it starts out with an intro page [i guess in case you use it as a journal], then a vertical spread for the year, and a checklist for each month. this year, i left the year blank and filled in the biggest or most fun thing that happened that month. if i used it all 12 months, it would’ve been a sweet year review. i might do it again in 2013.
there are little illustrations throughout the whole thing, which makes me worry less about how i’ll never live up to the creative adorable examples online. ;-) though, washi tape is already making a crazy appearance.
between the months are the weekly pages. i finished numbering all the dates earlier today, and i have some empty weeks [because there are 5 weeks between each month]. so i decided to test it out this week. [blurred because there are some christmas presents on the list! and, every once in a while, since telling him about it, i think EP reads the blog.]
i always have a few great months, and then move on to the next office supply. i just have to actually keep it with me and open it up this time. this one’s small and sweet enough to work out, i think. i’ll have to see how it goes on emptier weeks. maybe i’ll take some nicer photos if i keep it up.
