i blame elise for my renewed interest in all things homemade. it started innocently as a decision to try project life. but then i needed supplies for it. and then i didn’t want my supplies to go unused until january.
i decided for the time being, that my outlet to decorate would be a journal. i just finished one i’ve been writing in for a couple of years. so i picked out a plain one from my stack. haha. that’s right. i’ve got a stack of notebooks just at the ready.
i bought washi tape from target, at michael’s, and through moose art on etsy. i really like them all. target only had four color packs with the same designs, and they are thicker than the others. i bought them because i couldn’t wait to order online & they were cheap, and really, they’re good too.
so here’s the journal. it’s a moleskine cahier, because i’m a yuppy apparently. and even thinking that, i still like them bad.
i wrapped the outside with a piece of copy paper that i trimmed down. i think a kraft cover would be great alone, but the tape didn’t look great on black.
next time i think i’ll stick with similar colors, and maybe more similar patterns. it’s a lot busier than something i would buy in a store… but because it’s homemade i obviously think it’s perfect. haha. it’s thin, and it’s filling up. with my random blog hiatus, i was journaling up a storm. it’s an interesting shift, but i’m not sure which way i like it. i think i would divulge more issues, more things to work through or gripe about, in a personal journal. and i think the other things, i could print and paste from the blog so i have them in there, as well. i can never seem to really throw myself into more than one outlet at a time.
i’ve been playing with the inside pages, too. it’s easier to write on a not-blank page. and i really like filling journals… so words go further when there’s less space. i like looking at something that looks nice.
title page – with a paper source bracket stamp. i’ll fill in the end date when it’s ended. [i’m only using the right pages so i don’t have to worry about bleed-through on the left ones.]
a stamp from elise [i bought the today is ___ and i love ___] and a date stamp
and i used some tape to add an index card. it was a cute idea i saw online for adding pieces, instead of tacking them to the page. because i only have one, it flips open to this page a lot.
and sorry for the awful blurring of this one, but the real “blur tool” wouldn’t work, and i wanted to share the 2 newest stamps i bought. i love them. they came from the junkclearance bin at michael’s.
so there’s my moleskine. like i said, it’s a little bright for me, but i’ve been writing up a storm, so maybe that’s a good thing.
