june is normally my favorite month, but this year’s was a little tense. just a little stressed. i think july might be the favorite this year.
friday night, EP and i were going to lay around and watch some dvds. we ended up going out to dinner late, but it was delicious. no good photos. i had a spinach salad with bleu cheese, apples, walnuts, and a good, creamy, fruity dressing [sounds awful; tastes delicious]. we were very sleepy when we finished, so we’ll have to save this for later:
i’m not actually forcing EP to watch it, but it just came in the mail, and i was a little excited.
yesterday was spent at the beach. we took a back-roads route that i didn’t know, and found a little diner along the way for breakfast — the tuckahoe family diner.
this was great, since power was out in EP’s neighborhood. [i’m told it got fixed an hour ago! awesome, since their estimate was still july 7.] the diner looked like an old train car [it actually might have been], and was adorable. food was ok/good. but the servers wore poodle skirts! [which, i’m sure, has long since lost its appeal to them.]
this raisin toast was from this morning, but i have nowhere else to share the photo.
we also stopped at frog hollow, the tiniest bakery ever, for a few donuts on the way to the beach. my dad would pick up donuts or sticky buns here a few times a summer, and we miss them.
and then we spent a nice day at the beach. :-) [little buggy, but we walked in the water. little hot, but we stopped in some AC for a slice of pizza.]
i am toying with the idea of a blogging challenge… [THANKS, FRAN, for mentioning this! i’ve been waiting to hear about one.] i don’t really blog every day. honestly, i enjoy blogging more when it’s engaging me and i’m actively pursuing it, without stressing at all. posting every other day [or so] is what i’m most comfortable with. but i like the idea of a little challenge, it’s only one month, and there’s the option to catch up if i need to [the challenge is 31 posts, not one per day]. but i’m still toying.
happy sunday night! two work-weekends this week, instead of a whole work-week… i’ll take it.
