thursday night, I had a cute little date with my parents. I met them at chili’s on a whim. I had a new sparkling pomegranate margarita. it was good, but if I got it again, I’d ask them to go easy on the sugary syrup.
I also caught a gorgeous sunset on the way home.
last night was a little bit of a contrast to thursday night. it started out with an awesome snack — 2% greek yogurt with honey. [the stats in 2% are still incredible, and it is so rich and perfect; if I have the choice, I’m never choosing 0% again.]
this reminds me of my favorite boss, at my college job. she ate this for breakfast every morning when she traveled to greece [before greek yogurt was so trendy], and she got me hooked on straining yogurt to make my own.
then came bedtime.
a dog in my neighborhood barked violently for two hours while I tried to fall asleep, until I finally decided to call about it. I believe my directional explanation was lacking, because no one showed up, and he finally fell asleep after the third hour. :-( I think it was worse than normal because i was already a little sleep-deprived from earlier in the week. from there, it was just one of those nights. I woke up at 3:45 and started browsing around for camera straps when I knew I couldn’t fall asleep. I don’t think I really slept again.
enter dunkin donuts, following our meeting this morning. fran and I met ele, and had a last minute addition of our friend debbie. I’ve missed her. she is a little breath of fresh air. and she tells the best stories.
i was craving another everything bagel like on our trip to the shore.
now I’m relying on my medium caramel iced coffee to get me through the rest of the day.
not that I have to be very cognizant… the plan is laundry at the parents’ while laying by the pool. perhaps something delicious for dinner. and perhaps an 8:30 bedtime. ;-)
anybody have any great weekend plans or meals?
