i had a wonderful wednesday night that completely made up for a disheartening day at work. it was just what i needed. this morning, though, i was struggling trying to work out life decisions. i’m happy with my recent promotion, and i do enjoy the work that i usually get to do. but it wasn’t really anything i was passionate about. so, great for right now. but when does ‘right now’ turn into ‘the long run’?
in light of that frazzling morning, i am offering up a list… some current things that make me really happy. :-) a little perspective usually settles me right down. and i know eventually, everything will work itself out. while i don’t like dragging my feet, there aren’t really deadlines on decisions like this. i have to keep reminding myself that things will work out when they’re supposed to.
wednesday night date night. EP and i got take out from a nice italian restaurant. i’m currently hooked on huge portions of their house salad, and their bruschetta with mozzarella. we rented new year’s eve [which was disappointing compared to valentine’s day, but not terrible].
we also had a thursday lunch date. i spotted something that looked vegetarian in the case at the nice pizza place in town. and it was! feta cheese, roasted red peppers, spinach, and fried eggplant on white pizza. the slice weighed at least 4 pounds.

i’m reading specials, the third book in the uglies series by scott westerfeld. i’m not sure i like it as a young adult book to actually be read by young adults, because it’s been a little too positive about the main characters engaging in really unhealthy behaviors. but i also think the idea of kids reading the hunger games is a little excessive, and i loved that series. i’m hooked!
i’m also currently hooked on party of five and gilmore girls on dvd. this might all change if and when i spring for cable this summer. but party of five is just stupendous. EP accidentally watched an episode or two. he said he was napping, but he asked a lot of questions.
“2-7” birthday party in 9 days! i moved it a week later than the original plan, but that gives me more time to get the prep ingredients and get really excited. and more of my invitees can come next saturday. it will be great… lots of appetizers and sangria, and lounging in the pool if the weather is nice.
i’ve already got a camera bag that i really like — i designed a porteen gear bag on etsy. and i also just bought a camera bag insert, to turn any bag large enough into a safer fly zone for some gear. but i love handbags as much as i don’t care about shoes [and usually clothes]. and these epiphanie bags are making me swoon right now. i want a big fun bag that looks girly + classy enough to take to a nice event [or really, even, just a nice dinner]. i usually take a while before i decide on things like this, but she’s so pretty.
and now i’m off to meet my parents at chili’s for a last minute dinner date. :-) like i said, a little perspective.
