I had the best grocery plans yesterday… I remembered cream cheese, jam, and tempeh sandwiches while perusing my last blog. and then the store that always has tempeh was out of tempeh. I was also going to have delicious granola, yogurt, and strawberries for breakfast, like on vacation. and then I forgot to make the granola! but, my second plans ended up just as well. (last night was a grilled ham and jarlsberg sandwich with tomatoes and cukes on the side instead of the first sammich plan.)
on to tuesday’s meals! it’s my next “what I ate ‘wednesday’” post. the blog party is hosted by jenn at peas and crayons. click the photo to go look through everyone else’s great posts.
the day started off, naturally, with coffee. i’ve gone from skim + splenda to 2% milk + sugar, since I’m missing the desserty coffee from mexico. :-)
then I whipped up a new toast concoction. better in theory this time… I toasted at home, and warmed up at work. all the crunch was gone. I’ll have to eat early at home next time so it’s just right. two slices of fiber one cinnamon raisin toast (they still make this!) with a new strawberry cream cheese from laughing cow and a sliced banana.
the highlight of my meals (and my whole day, really): I stole away to wawa with EP for lunch, and had tomato soup with a cheese and veggie hoagie. their tomato soup is our hands-down favorite. it disappeared from their menu a while ago. i finally asked about it, and we can apparently request it in the AM any time we want it. :-)
I followed my already super-filling lunch with a york peppermint patty. it was an impulse buy. I hadn’t had one in about 3 years.
after work I finally got around to making the granola. recipe should follow soon. I had a bowl of stonyfield french vanilla yogurt with my granola and chopped cut strawberries. delicious.
currently, I’m curled up on the couch watching popular (anyone else ever watch this?) and… dipping a spoon into my crispy biscoff spread.
I’m bordering on one too many dips, but it’s currently still delicious. bedtime is approaching very shortly.
