coming back to work after a blissful week-long vacation… I have no real words for it. the morning was slow and motivation was a little bit nonexistent. I made it through, though…
I downloaded a couple of new iphone games and read some game of thrones on my breaks.
yesterday was a super sweet sunday, though. I’ll talk about that instead.
I headed straight to my parents’ house as soon as I drove EP home. it turns out, all the kids showed up for mother’s day (hilariously enough, in age order), with me bringing up the rear. we all sat on the porch and told stories and laughed all afternoon.
my mom was delighted. AND it was completely unplanned.
after dinner, we watched the king’s speech, which was one of the movies on my 101 list. i’d seen a few minutes here and there, but it always seemed a bit slow. it was wonderful, just like everyone had said. even my dad stuck around with us to watch.
i don’t really refer to my 101 list very often… but i’d still like to accomplish all these things in the next couple of years. [i got to cross two things off this week!]
so far, the best thing about monday is this [and i don’t mean that as a bad thing]:
fran, you were right to not look for the crispy biscoff cookie butter. it is exactly as delicious as it was in north carolina last summer. i do not have very high expectations that the jar will survive the week… ;-) but hey, i need some comforting during my post-vacation gloom. hahaha.
