my day started at 4:15. if we’re being serious, which clearly we are, it sort of just led into itself from last night. I had about a 5-hour window for sleep, and I didn’t really use it. I think I was too excited. I’m pretty sure I can recall every hour.
in any event, we got to the airport and through security just fine (in spite of waiting on the guys to come pick me up). hahaha. everything really did go fine. spoiler:
to risk a tangent, the boys in my life always primp longer, dawdle more, and in general, act like ladies. :p mostly i mean my dad, who we waited at least 30 minutes for each saturday we were headed to the shore growing up, and who still insists on washing and fixing his hair to cut the grass. “people could see him!” haha.
but I digress: we’re in mexico! like I said, I’ve only ever taken one trip sort-of-away-from the US. this one is the first legit one – as in, I got my very first stamp in my passport! :-)
so far, we’ve seen the resort a little bit, had lunch, and are currently napping/laying down until we get ready for dinner. first things first:
hello there, lover.
I’m a little unsure about how my vegetarian meals will go here. I’m not concerned. no no. everything is too wonderful to care very much. but… there was one vegetarian menu item: a wrap. our adorable, hilarious server said they could make me a surprise plate if I wanted. i think what came out was the veggie wrap insides… mushrooms and grilled peppers. great flavor, but that meant lunch was almost only vegetables. we’ll see how it goes. everyone is so friendly so far, I’m sure I could make special requests if it happens again and not sound too needy. :p
the best food at lunch was the incredibly weird choice I made for dessert: a pistachio-flavored something (which I never go for) topped and filled with strawberries. I don’t even know what it was… a weird texture between a mousse and maybe a gelatin? the flavor was just incredible.
now I’m off to go look outside and marvel at how much fun this is. and probably rinse off and put on a cute new dress before we head to dinner. :-) happy cinco de mayo to everyone back in the states! here, it’s just a regular; blissful saturday night.
