Sunday was an adorable day spent with EP. we traveled up to new hope to walk around the town.
we got off to a slow start, just like I like to do on any weekend I can. and I volunteered to drive, since he always does and I know the area alright.
I spent the day taking photos with the iphone, and walked around holding hands.
we ate at triumph brewery. it was spectacular. great food, the best atmosphere, and a ton of beers and cocktails. I am decidedly not a beer person, but I like Sam Adams summer ale, and anything dark and delicious. they had a “coffee and cream” stout. sold. it was creamy and tasted a lot like coffee, because they actually brewed with coffee beans.
we got nachos, which i thought were great, but that might have been because I was so hungry. I got the veggie burger, which was soft on the inside, just like I like, full of things like sprouts and sunflower seeds, and came topped with Swiss cheese and bacon-like tempeh strips! I am not joking when I say I would make the hour drive for this burger alone.
but it was not alone. I got it with a side of sweet potato fries. and they came with: maple syrup. delicious, blissful, unexpected maple syrup.
our server couldn’t stop gushing about his favorite stout, and brought us samples so he could have one with us. it was just a perfect experience.
we rounded out our trip with a visit with a few of my college friends. they have an apartment five minutes from the town, so we had to stop by. it’s an adorable apartment, above a garage, with a gigantic wall of storage cubbies, and the most spectacular high ceilings. and a back deck that will be perfect to perch on with a glass of sangria and watch the sunset in the summer. I would be jealous, if I didn’t love this first apartment of mine so much.
