Reverb10 was led last year by Gwen Bell, Kaileen Elise, and Cali Harris, to celebrate life and mourn losses. I answered about 5 prompts. This year, I’m creating my own Reverb11. It is a month-long challenge, to blog every day of December, reflect on 2011, and think about 2012. Feel free to answer my prompts or share your own.
Today’s prompt – ENCHANT: What was the most beautiful thing you saw/did/experienced this year?

in january, my dad and i threw my mom a surprise party at one of our favorite restaurants. she does not like being the center of attention, but it was a perfect night. we invited all of our family, who we don’t get to see together aside from Christmas most years. her siblings, and his siblings, and all of my cousins. they closed the restaurant, and we sat, and drank, and talked, and made fun of each other.
in may, we celebrated my dad’s last radiation treatment, and i took them for a long weekend in lancaster.
in may, i participated in my second relay for life, with fran and some of her incredible family. the candlelit walk through the park always gets me. it is beautiful and sad and overwhelming. but like the year before, i was so glad to be a part of it with my new friends.
and in november, i took the most beautiful trip i’ve ever taken, to st. john. all four days were enchanting, even through short rainstorms, and a few days of not feeling very good. it was four days full of love, wonderful company, and amazing views.
