Reverb10 was led last year by Gwen Bell, Kaileen Elise, and Cali Harris, to celebrate life and mourn losses. I answered about 5 prompts. This year, I’m creating my own Reverb11. It is a month-long challenge, to blog every day of December, reflect on 2011, and think about 2012. Feel free to answer my prompts or share your own.
Today’s prompt — MEET: Who did you meet?
– – – –
- in new orleans, i met a friend’s… mom’s… friend. she decided to become an engineer in her 40s. she opened her house to us, and she was the epitome of relaxation and a good time.
- i made a friend in my biology class. she joked in the beginning about how awkward she is about making new friends (just like me). she said it felt like asking someone out on a first date. she’s four years younger than me, but i think she’s an old soul. she’s hilarious, and we have good, long conversations in our cars during our saturday lunch breaks.
- i met my landlords.
- [this one makes me realize just how long one year can be.] i went to two happy hours with a small group from work, two weeks in a row. i had certain ideas about what i wanted to take from it. i really like the guys in this group, and i’d been feeling particularly bored and lonely. i was hoping we could get together more regularly, and i’d have a fun group to go out with. then i ended up meeting… someone (i’m working on what i’ll call him here). even though we were both there the first week, we really met the second week. and we started dating. that was basically my last happy hour. i don’t think i need to say how pleased i am with the way this worked out.
